Sam Taubenheim

I have been working in mental health since 2012. In that time, I learned that working with clients is about building a relationship. It can be difficult for clients to share often painful parts of their lives and building that relationship takes time. My primary goal is to provide a safe environment for my clients so we can work together to achieve their goals for therapy. I provide counseling in a strengths-based environment meaning clients are the experts on their lives. We will focus on finding your strengths and using them as a foundation to create change.

I work with a variety of clients and specialize in couples/partners counseling and trauma counseling. I approach counseling from a wellness model and want to help clients become their best selves. I work from an eclectic, evidence-based orientation with a family systems approach. This recognizes that the approach needs to be tailored to the client and that the client and presenting issues do not exist in isolation.

I believe counseling can be beneficial to anyone who feels a desire to work through an issue. Large or small, an issue is worth exploring because it is important to the client.
