Policies

Wayfarer Therapy believes in transparency about its policies to allow current and potential clients to be informed about their care. The policies outlined below are those usually of most concern to clients and are not exhaustive. Questions about policies can be directed to Wayfarer Therapy using the form on the Contact page.

Appointment Policies

Appointment Duration
Appointments will generally last for 50 minutes from the scheduled start time. Time will not be added to the end of the appointment to make up for time if you are late and the client will be billed for the full appointment.

Cancellations
A scheduled appointment should be canceled as soon as possible. Wayfarer Therapy requires 24 hours notice for cancellations. Clients will be charged for an appointment canceled within 24 hours of the appointment start time.

No Shows
Clients who "no show" for a scheduled appointment will be charged for the full session rate. The counselor will make a reasonable effort to contact clients who no show for an appointment to confirm a new appointment. The client is responsible for confirming this new appointment.

General Policies

Emergencies and Crisis
In emergency or crisis situations, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room.

Client Communication
Wayfarer Therapy is committed to close, therapeutic communication between client and counselor. Communication regarding personal and confidential topics, as would be discussed in session, should not be done through e-mail. Wayfarer Therapy asks that such topics be discussed in session or via phone.

Payment Methods
Wayfarer Therapy accepts cash, checks, and major credit cards as payment for services. Wayfarer Therapy does not accept insurance as a method of payment. See an explanation for this decision on the Rates and Billing page.

Late Payments and Returned Checks
Unless arranged prior to an session, payment is expected at the time of the appointment. Excessive late payments may result in additional fees. Checks returned to Wayfarer Therapy due to insufficient funds or any other reason may result in additional fees.
